VisPlayer Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-02-24
Scope: VisPlayer Android client (current version)
This page is a user-facing explanation to help you understand data handling and feature boundaries. It is not legal advice. If mandatory laws in your jurisdiction apply, those laws prevail.
1. Who we are
VisPlayer is a music player app focused on local playback and local media management. We prioritize privacy by using a local-first and minimum-necessary approach whenever possible.

2. What information we collect
2.1 Local data (primarily stored on your device)
- Local media library index information (such as title, artist, album, duration, file path/Uri).
- Playlist structure, playback history, recent plays, audio effect settings, and UI preferences.
- Data source settings you configure manually (such as WebDAV server address and username; whether passwords are stored depends on your choices and implementation of the current version).
2.2 Device/runtime information (minimum necessary for features)
- Basic device information (e.g., OS version, model) and network state (e.g., connectivity) for compatibility and troubleshooting.
- Crash or exception information, if the current version enables such collection, to improve stability.
2.3 What we do not upload by default
- We do not upload your local audio file contents (the song files themselves) by default.
3. How we use the information
- To provide local scan, playback, sorting, search, playlist management, and cover/lyrics display.
- To save your preferences (theme, audio effects, crossfade, UI options, etc.).
- To test network connectivity, sync, or scan WebDAV storage when you explicitly enable those features.
- To troubleshoot issues and improve performance/compatibility (where applicable).
We do not use your data for advertising marketing, and we do not sell personal information for marketing purposes.
4. Permissions (requested only when needed)
- Media/Audio access: to scan and play audio files on your device.
- Notification permission: to show playback notifications and controls.
- Network-related permissions: for sync, WebDAV connectivity tests, and online cover features that you choose to use.
If a permission is not granted, related features may be unavailable, but unrelated features should remain usable.
5. Storage and security
- Most usage data is stored locally on your device.
- If you enable sync or connect self-hosted services, relevant data may be transmitted to the server you specify.
- We take reasonable measures to protect data, but no system can be guaranteed risk-free.
We recommend regularly backing up important data and keeping your device/account secure.
6. Third-party services and data sources
- Local media library: from audio files and metadata on your device.
- WebDAV: from WebDAV storage you configure and authorize.
- Online cover and similar features (if enabled): from third-party public APIs/services; availability depends on network conditions, API policies, and service status.
Third-party services have their own privacy policies and terms. Please review them before use.
7. Your controls
- You can manage or revoke app permissions in system settings.
- You can delete playlists, cache, or some local records inside the app (depending on the current version).
- You can disable online features and use the app in local-only mode.
8. Minors
If you are a minor, please read and use the app under the guidance of a parent or guardian.
9. Compliance
We design and operate the product in accordance with applicable data and privacy laws and regulations, including mandatory laws in the jurisdictions where the product is used.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy from time to time and notify users through app updates, page updates, or other reasonable means.
